This is an unusual round, and I suspect it has earlier origins than the iron age. Reason: it has an incredible number of ancient site alignments passing through it, many of them involving neolithic sites. Many people might not accept this as admissible evidence but, nevertheless, Cornish rounds don't behave like this - usually they have no, or one, maximum two alignments passing through or tangenting them. This has seven - what in this area you see only in the case of major sites (such as Trencrom Hill, westwards). So, although it looks quite like a round on the ground, it might well be that, before this, something else was here, or the site was upcycled.
