Jættestue (Passage Grave) in Haderslev

Along the road just a little kilometers north of Over Jerstal is a nice collection
of large stone tombs from the Neolithic period. At the small size protected and
publicly accessible land with associated P-space out to the highway, you can find
two Jættestue and a burial mound with a ruined chamber.

Round Barrow, 3 m x 17 m. From the east side leads an 8 m long passage
(uncovered in 1931) into a chamber.
The chamber is 3 m in E-W, 1.50 m br., 1.40 to 1.60 m high.
Chamber is set by six carrying stones, two in the south side,
one in the west end, the north side two long stone, which the west has shifted
somewhat and pushed a portion inward, especially at the top.
The entrance from S-E is 0.60 m wide.
Some of the intervals between carrier stones are filled with small stones.
The whole room is covered by one huge capstone, whose length and width can
not be measured. The thickness is approx. 1 to 1.10 m above the entrance.
