Chambered Cairn in Islay
Text by charlton, 6-2016:
Giant's Grave chambered cairn in Isle of Islay Scotland.
The site is in woodland in a cleared area on a forestry ride. The ground is very boggy and the grave filled with water at one end. The capstones have slipped off at some point in its history.
This is a very beautiful site and worth the effort to visit over rough terrain. There is a video on Youtube of an exploratory excavation by the University of Reading January 2016.
