Standing Stone (Menhir) in Rogaland
This standing stone is located in the fence surrounding a private house in the middle of the town of Eigersund. It has been used as a fence post for many years and two holes have been drilled into its wider side. It is standing just 0,4m from the street. It was taken from a local barrow cemetery not far from here but the cemetery has been erased long ago.
The standing stone is 2 metres in height, 85cm wide at the base and 30cm thick. The top ends in a point with straight sides so it almost resembles an arrow. The large flat sides are smooth. The stone is locally called Prestesteidn.
