Bougon Tumulus C is one of the more complex tumuli within the Bougon necropolis, consisting of two structures dated to the 4th millenium BC, which were covered with a massive circular covering of earth.

Tumulus C1 is a large round tumulus, 24 metres in diameter and 4 metres in height. Within this massive covering of earth and stone, is a single small dolmenic chamber, where four perfectly sized and fitted slabs create a chamber about 2 metres by 1.5 metre. Two more slabs create the roof and floor to the chamber. The entrance to this is oriented to the west and is now open, but the original was sealed. On the northern side slab, three crochets have been sculpted, very similar to those found in tumulus B1 and F2. Four skeletons were found within the chamber, one of them being an old lady.

Adjoining on the back of this, a second phase of construction created tumulus C2, which is a large rectangular construction, 40 metres by 20 metres, surrounded with drystone walling. No chambers were found within the construction, but three double burials were found within it, each containing the remains of an adult and a child. A further burial was found containing the remains of a child.

After the completiion of C1 and C2, the last phase of construction was tumulus C3, which was an enormous 57 metre diameter circular covering of earth and stone. No chambers were found within this. This in some ways identifies this tumulus with that at Gavrinis, which like this was covered with a massive covering of sand and stone.
