Turn right at the Østerskovvej. Upon entering the wood keep left on split in the road. Park at the Forest House on your right, on your left is the monument.
It is well restored and really worth the detour through the village.

The mound is 16 metres across and 2.5 metres high with an exposed passage leading to the covered chamber which is 6.2 metres long and 1.71 metres wide, once surrounded by short stones which appear to have been broken up for building material around 1881.
Local folk bought Bogø Island from the King in 1769 and cherishing their independence rejected any attempts by outsiders to protect the monument until 1918 when the local school teacher rallied support and brought in National Museum staff to assist in its preservation. Rosenberg from the National Museum conducted excavations and restoration work in 1918. His finds included a chisel, some stone axes and a few flint tools and potsherds.
In 1933 Raklev from the National Museum carried out a further excavation finding a flint flake and an ox tooth. He also arranged for iron supports to be installed in the chamber. The site was further restored in 1994, the old iron supports removed and a further deeper excavation revealed charcoal, bones, flint, and potsherds.
