Mynydd Carnguwch
Mynydd Carnguwch submitted by Postman : Me for scale. There are no chambers in this stony mound, and I half think it's set upon a natural rocky upwards spur, so it's not all cairn, if it's a cairn at all. (2 comments - Vote or comment on this photo)

Mynydd Carnguwch
Mynydd Carnguwch submitted by pab : As noted by Shropshire Traveller, this cairn has a certain 'photographic' attraction - due no doubt to its symmetry? Taken in October 2007 with my trusty little compact zoom camera, this picture fromt he same spot as ST's shows an enticing entrance at the left of the cairn. It must surely be worth a climb in its own right if anyone is in the area... (1 comment - Vote or comment on this photo)

Mynydd Carnguwch is know locally as the Maiden's Breast for obvious resons. It is 20+ft high and 150 around and was investigated by the Gwynedd Archaeolgical Trust in the seventies. They decsided no todisturb the cist in aside the cairn. There is a standing stone at the foot of the Mynydd. Carnguwch is on the opposite side of the pass to Tre'r Ceiri the most impressive ancient settlement in Wales.
