Jættestue (Passage Grave) near Hjørring

Until 2013 it was possible to access the chamber of the passage grave via a gap between 2 capstones (one had been moved in historic times). In 2013 the chamber has been restored and sealed. Requires a small walk from the nearest path but the site is hard to see from there. The site is marked as 'jættestue' on the local topographic maps.

Tingskov Trindbjerg Jættestue submitted by Tonnox : Flegum Jættesue. Passage grave. 2 x 16 meter. Due to danger to people and animals, the passage grave was restored in 2013. During the restoration in 2013, all stones were put in place and the passage grave was covered with harped soil. There is now no access to the chamber. You are indeed correct. I visited this site twice in august 2019 and I was definately unable to find any opening on the top of the mound. I poked around with a stick but no gaps left. Like you mentioned to me it seems that they "restored" the mound in 2013 and put the capstones back in place. That is a pity, I was really hoping to have a peek inside.

    Thanks for your efforts. I updated the site page accordingly. Really sad, because the site previously offered the extremely rare opportunity to see a passage door stone being in situ.
