Bronze and iron age cairn cemetery (gravfelt) near Trondheim in Norway

This site is situated on a small piece of land between two fjords. Called a "eide" in norwegian. The site name is Valseidet. It is a small ridge orientated north to south with a low ridge running along it. It consists of 7 round burial cairns: 3 large ones ranging from 25 to 20 metres across and from 1 to 2 metres in height. 4 smaller cairns, ranging from 8 to 12 metres across and up to 0,5 metres tall. One of them has a very distinctive circle of larger kerb stones. There also is one stone circle made of 9 larger stones placed in a circle. Also a burial monument?
5 of the mounds are located on higher ground while two cairns and the stone circle are located lower, closer to the bay and the sea shore.
The vegetation around is very low, only smaller grass. The cairns therefore are easily visible. Almost no vegetation grows on the cairns themselves.
The cairns are from late bronze age to early iron age. They revealed burned burials and some of the grave goods have been excavated. They have been restored to the original shapes after the excavations.
It is a easy site to find, the cairns are visible from the road and signs show the way to a small parking lot and a path leading to them. It is also a beautiful view of the sea and the landscape around.
