Marker Stone in Overijssel

Next to the village Gramsbergen, there's a small forest named Gramsberger Bosje. In this forest there are two small hills. One of them allegedly was used to bury dead horses, the other one is marked by the "Kindersteen". According local lore, children were delivered under this stone.

A translation from the Gramsberger City on the Vecht website adds: "Around the year 1500, Agnes van der Eze, the wife of the knight Vincentius van Buren, orchestrated the creation of a four-hectare forest known as Gramsberger Bosje. This enchanting woodland features a network of picturesque sunken paths surrounding an ancient Germanic sacrificial mound. Legend has it that this mound was once a Celtic healing sanctuary, where people believed they could tap into concentrated energies. The focal point of the mound is marked by an unusual angular stone, aptly named the “Kindersteen” or “Children’s Stone".
