Ring Cairn in Baikmak Region of Bashkiria, Russia. The tools of the ancient observatory found in Baikmak Region of Bashkiria are still in working order. Scientists knew about the ancient site of settlement on the territory of Baishevskie barrows long ago, yet recently its analogy with the world-famous Stonehenge, the most ancient observatory on the Salisbury Plain, Southern England, has been discovered. [another one to add to the 'like Stonehenge' totaliser board - MegP Ed]
Similar are their forms, dimensions, age, and cult functions. In spite of disruptions near the construction one can clearly see three rays of various lengths, each of them estimating the position of the Sun and the Moon at a certain time of observation. For this reason scientists have called them “arrows” for convenience.
This ancient settlement is one of the 20 archeological monuments of “the land of cities”, that in the first place served as fortresses, and then only as convenient sites for astronomic observations.
Each of them was a link of a single network, every monument performing its own function. Further research is to show what functions exactly these were.
