Standing Stone in the province of Luxembourg
Modern decorative stone.
Pîrîre is the name of the Lieu-dit where this decorative stone has been erected, at the entrance of Marche-en-Famenne.
The exquisite quality of this finely sculptured stone makes it stand out of the this type of round-about decoration (which tend to flourish everywhere).
The "Pierre de Pîrîre" is a proud representative of the new Megalithic Revival : featuring Stones for their own sake, a movement perceptible in many megalithic-rich regions.
