Persian reliefs in Taq-e Bostan were made during the period of Sassanid dynasty (3rd - 7th century AD). The reliefs show investitures of kings Ardashir II and Shapur III who were in good relatons with Roman Empire, as well as hunting scenes with Khosrau II and many inscriptions. However, the oldest relief in Taq-e Bostan is one which shows crowning ceremony of Ardashir I and Shapur I.
