Ancient Settlement in Isreal. An excavated ancient Tel just northeast of the Sea of Galilee, the structure is located near a later (9th century), fully excavated city gate complex which is part of a larger ancient settlement or city that some scholars suggest is the possible site of the biblical town of Bethsaida, or, alternately, the capital city of the biblical Geshurites.
Dr. Rami Arav of the University of Nebraska, and a team from multiple universities began a more focused excavation in 2011 on the ancient structures, which include an Iron Age gate complex.
Note: Archaeologists are uncovering a possible 10th Century BC city gate near Sea of Galilee
