Ūdri cross stone is located at Pūķi (as Ūdri are renamed recently) farmstead (Amata parish/pagasts) living house, 12–15 meters from it's DR corner, at the right side of entrance road, besides large oak tree.
The stone is an oblong, trapezium shaped piece of Rapakivi granite. Length about 92cm, width - about 60cm, height - 30-42cm. The plane with cross is possibly leveled. Size of cross - apr. 37x39cm, depth - 2-2,5cm.
Several cross stones (stones with engraved crosses), located in a line, were registered about 300-400m from Ūdri farmstead in 1926. And one cross stone - as the home owner then said to registrar - was immured in home's basement. Nevertheless in soviet occupation time stones were lost. Researchers visited Ūdri several times and tried to locate stones, but without success. Surroundings of home were changed by melioration.
Then, in the summer of 2018 present-day home owners did the basement insulation works and excavated a stone, which later appeared to be one from the lost Ūdri cross stones.
Comparing Ūdri stone with other known cross stones in the region, especially Cēsis un Valmiera historical districts, also taking in mind the context, we can draw the conclusion that most possibly it's one from early medieval (13-14 CE) border stones, possibly put down to mark the border between lands of Livonian Sword brothers order and those of Riga's archbishop.
