Barrow Cemetery in Rogaland. This unusual but very beautiful barrow cemetery is different because the long barrows far outnumber the round barrows and also that the largest long barrows are very long. Two of them are from 50-60 metres in length, making them some of the longest long barrows I have seen or are known from Norway.

The barrow cemetery is located on a flat natural terrace with a beautiful view over the ocean. The terrain is only consisting of very short grass and the barrows are easy to see. When I visited the site it was late evening and sunny and the sun made some beautiful shades of the barrows.

The cemetery consists of 15 barrows. Three of them are small round barrows and 12 are long barrows in various lengths. The longest barrow is closest to the sea. It is a very long, around 52 metres in length, around 6 metres wide and 1 to 1,5 metres in height. It is one of the most beautiful long barrows I have seen.

It has several small craters along it. A small road goes trough one long barrow, making it unclear if it is one single long barrow or two. The two parts are 21 and 22 metres in length, around 5 metres wide and 1 metre in height. These two might be one single long barrow and is running paralell with the longest barrow around 10 metres above it.

Two more long barrows are further up from the sea from the two longest ones, they are 17 and 14 metres in length, around 5 metres wide and 1 metre in height. A little further to the north is another lond barrow, around 21 metres in length, around 4 metres wide and 1 to 1,5 metres in height. Another long barrow is located further to the south, it is 23 metres in lenght, around 5 metres wide and 1 metre in height.

The barrow cemetery is inside a fenced in grazing ground for sheeps and the grass and vegetation is beeing kept always short making the barrows easy to see.
