This spectacular scenery was originally built as the garden of a villa for the feudal lord of Saga domain, Nabeshima family who was well-known for production of Arita/Imari porcelain wares and the story of spooky goblin cat which annoyed the head of Nabeshima with its ex-keeper’s grudge.
The cliff, actually it is a rock-climbers favourite point, and carpet of flowers are outstanding features but this park also contains a pond garden with stones. The park is now owned by a spa inn.
Open 8:00-17:00, admission 500 Japanese Yen (2024 price, free for inn guests)
