The barrow is around 50 metres in diameter and about 6 metres in height. It has larger trees growing on its sides and around but the barrow itself is mostly covered in tall grass making it easy to see. Some information posters have been placed next to the barrow. The barrow must have been easy to see from anyone coming by boat or along the ancient road.
