A hillfort in Akershus, Norway. The hill falls steeply, sometimes precipitously, towards the west and eastwith natural small plateaus. Somewhat gentler slope in the south, gentlest in the north. The area is fortified with four walls that fully or partially follow the rock outcrops and the edge of natural cliffs. They are built of round boulders and quarry stone, sometimes also large blocks. This particularly applies to wall 1.
Wall 2s S-SW part consists of fairly even-sized rounds and is particularly strong. The walls are partially collapsed and relatively overgrown. Width approx. 4m, outer wall height 0.5-1.5m Wall 1 begins at a cliff on the S edge of the summit, goes in an arc over towards the SW edge of the mountain, where it ends at some flat crags. L 40-50m. Wall 2 begins like wall 1, at the cliff on the S edge of the hill, about 10m N and above 1. It has the same course as 1, to the end point but continues NW in a l of about 25m where it goes over a larger flat ledge which continues in a N-S trending lowering until the inner hillfort area. The hillforts entrance may have been here. The wall then continues along the W edge of the hill with the main direction NW-SE in a l of 65m, where the mountain begins to drop off precipitously.
About 120m N of wall 2's NW end and on the NW edge of the hill wall 3 begins, where the slope becomes somewhat less steep. It runs NE over a rather steep knoll. L NE-SW 30m. The wall then goes in an arc N-over a ridge and ends on the same ledge as wall 4 facing the steep slope of the hill in the East, l 40m.
On a lower ledge up to the east side of the above-mentioned ridge approx. 15m N of wall 3's easternmost end of the ridge: Wall 4. Starts up to the mentioned ridge and goes along the ledge's NE edge in a l of 25m E-W and ends where the steep slope begins again at the hill's NE edge. The other castle area is slightly hilly, but in the middle there is a higher summit plateau. At the SE edge of and in the lower part of the hillfort area, there is a bog hole, which even in dry weather is quite damp. Tvm approx. 10m, The inner fort area is overgrown with fairly dense fir forest with patches of hardwoods and pine. Bare rock in most places. The inner hillfort area measures: NNW-SE approx. 350m, E-W approx. 150m.
To get to the hillfort it is a long walk along a footpath from the local road. The footpath cross over several rock outcrops, small creeks and steep slopes.
