This very pretty barrow cemetery is located inside a grazing ground for sheeps in the hills high above the Mjøsa lake and the view from the cemetery is beautiful. The cairns and cemetery only has small cut grass and some few trees and the cairns are easily visible. From a local road there is a small walk to the cemetery.
The cemetery consists of 10 cairns. 9 round cairns and one elongated. The largest cairn is 18 metres in diameter and 2 metres in height and have a beautiful shape. Another one is 15 metres in diameter and 1,5 metres in height. The latter is on the edge of a natural plateau and the view from the cairn is beautiful.
The rest of the barrows are between 6 and 10 metres in diametres. Even though some are small they are still easily visible in the short grass.
Another interesting detail is that none of the cairns have the typical crater in the center and none of them seems to have any damage at all which is rare in iron age cemeteries. A theory is that the cemetery was overgrown with forest and forgotten and didnt came into the light again until modern farming started to use the field and removed the forest.
