Stone Circle in Vestfold
In a small clearing in a very tight forest is a ship shaped stone setting. The clearing has some small brush and leaf trees and the site can be difficult to find. To find it I had to find the road, stop and walk trough the tight forest parallel to the road to find the clearing.
The stone setting consists today of 9 upright stones but has probably have several more stones. Some large stones has topped over and has probably belonged to the stone setting. The north-west side of the setting consists today of 4 stones and the south east side of 3 stones. Two more upright stones are seen in the south part and has probably been the tip of the setting. Four small holes in the ground to the north end has probably belonged to more stones but have later been removed. To the south is a two large tipped over stones that has belonged to the setting.
The tallest stone in the north-west side is 1,4 metres in height and 1 metre wide. It narrows to the top. The other stones are around 1 metre in height and around 60cm wide.
The stones on the south east side is around 90cm in height and around 50cm wide. They also narrows to the top. The end stone are 1,3 metre in height and around 1 metre wide. The topped over stone is around 2 metres in length.
The site also is said to have two round barrows nearby, but these were not possible to find in the tight forest.
