Stone Circle in Vestfold
The site consists of three stone circles, one single standing stone and one rectangular stone setting located inside a forest on a flat natural sand terrace. The site has some high pine trees but the forest ground only mostly have short vegetation so most of the stone settings are easily visible but some have been damaged and some single maybe natural stones are scattered around and can make the site seem confusing.
Furthest to the north east is a rectangular stone setting. It is consisting of a row of larger round boulders around 1-1,70 wide. It is hard to see if the stones have been raised or of they are laid out in this configuration originally. Inside the stone settings are also some larger stones. The stone setting is 14 metres long and 9 metres wide.
Some metres to the north of the rectangular setting is a stone circle. It seems to be made of a circular row of larger stones. The stones range is size from 30cm to 1,2 metres. The stones vary in size from 50-60cm wide and thick and 1 to 1,2 metres in height. It seems that some of the stones have fallen over. The diameter of the circle is around 13 metres.
In the middle of the site is another stone circle. It consists of 9 stones. 5 of the stones on the south sides are still standing while 4 stones have fallen over. Some have fallen into the circle while two more have fallen outwards. The stones that are still standing upright are around 1 metre in height and 70-80cm wide and have a pointy top. It is around 1,5 metres between the stones and the circle have a diameter of around 9 metres.
The single standing stone is 1,6 metres in height and around 60cm wide. I has a rectangular cross section and a rounded top. It is just 1 metre away from the second stone circle.
The third stone setting is only half preserved. It consists of 5 stones in a semi circle, two are still standing and are around 50cm wide and 50cm in height. Three more fallen stones together with the two standing is forming a half circle that are probably the remains of a circle.
All around the the site there are more fallen blocks and larger stones that might be parts of more stone settings and fallen standing stones but the vegetation and fallen trees makes it hard to determine for certain.
