Rock Art in Washington County, Maine. Machias Bay has several petroglyph sites, the rock art estimated at up to 3000 years old. The glyphs are described as being of animal and human figures. Several area outfitters offer boat and sea kayak tours to go to petroglyph locations.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The location given is for Hog Island, one of several locations. The location is approximate.
