Stone Fort or Dun in Isle of Skye

The remains of the enclosure of the dun, on the knoll at the point, are still over 8 ft high in places.
It is seen here from the top of the crags on the west side of Creag Liath.

The lines of the wider defensive walls are clearly visible around the perimeter of the flat top. Near the middle are these walls, enclosing a teardrop shaped area. This photo shows what a fantastis spot this was to see any invader coming in from the sea. The dun seemed to have arrived with the Brthonic Celts in about the 7th century BC.
