kalcoatl visited on 27th Dec 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 Somewhat neglected site that was clearly once well-managed, judging by the orientation and information slabs that form part of the path, enclosed by fencing and currently closed to the public.
The main feature is the hilltop rock out of which several caves have been formed. Some other caves in the ricky hillside can also be found.
Excavated since the late 1960s, it has been hypothesized that they had a possible function of demarcating territory, a kind of indicator of ownership of the different social groups buried there. For more information on the Nécropolis
