Barrow Cemetery in Pomorskie

Originaly 150 Bronze age tumuli of different sizes among 7 chambered tombs. This large barrow cemetery is located in the woods between the villages of Oskowo and Siemirowice. The earliest tombs were build in Neolithic period by the Funnelbeaker Culture, the barrows are associated with the Lusatian Culture in Bronze Age. The total number of remaining barrows is around 60-70. Most of them are well preserved, the mounds are clearly visible. Some of them have trenches dug at the top - remains of the excavations, not always made by professional archaeologists. In the northern part of the cemetery, which includes the oldest barrows, you can find a well-preserved megalithic burial chamber - unfortunately, the capstones are missing. Towards the south you can see the Bronze Age round barrows.

Survey made by Sprockhoff in the 1930s.
