Natural Stone / Erratic / Other Natural Feature in Yorkshire (North)

Recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 57384, we are told this is: "A large stone on the ridge of Hood Hill is supposed to be a Druid cairn altar. There is also a legend that a meeting between the Devil and a Missionary at Roulston Crag resulted in the Devil being routed and flying away with a large rock adhering to his foot. This he dropped on Hood Hill, his footprint left in the top."

The Northern Antiquarian (TNA) also features a page for this site - see their entry for Hood Hill Stone, Kilburn, North Yorkshire, which gives directions for finding this site, together with local folklore.
