The new (since 2023) permanent exhibition "Świt Pomorza" (The Dawn of Pomerania) available at the Museum of Regional Traditions in Szczecin presents nearly 14 millennia of cultural history in the Pomeranian lands, covering the times from the late Ice Age to the first centuries of the Duchy of Pomerania.

The exposition features over 1,000 artifacts from the rich archaeological collections gathered in Stettin since the first half of the 19thcentury. They are presented in chronological order, starting with Stone Age artifacts, through monuments from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age to the end of antiquity and ending with Slavic and mediaeval artifacts. At the same time, they show several dozen successive, often overlapping cultural, social and economic phenomena.
Info from the official site Muzeum Narodowe w Szczecinie

The information boards and touch screens on which you can find information about all the artifacts are in Polish, English and German.

Muzeum Tradycji Regionalnych submitted by Boeddel : 14.1. T-shaped axe made of a Cervidae antler. It was produced by cutting the middle part of an antler and removing an equal length bellow and over the tine, which was also cut (a shaft-hole was drilled there). This type was common in the Late Mesolithic and the Neolithic (the Funnel Beaker culture). The tool was delivered to the Museum Stettin in 1938 with a deposit of flint axes and other stone t... Originally, there were 54 of them, made of white bronze with high tin content imitating oxidized silver. The necklace was discovered in 1895 by Johannes Stützner, a pastor from Carow (Karwowo), during a non-professional excavation. It was deposited in a burial mound with five pottery vessels and remains of decorated bronze vessels. The conical pendants ...

Muzeum Tradycji Regionalnych submitted by Boeddel : The larger: Shaft-hole axe, made of deer antler. On the surface there is a unique eye motif and a mysterious T-shaped sign. It was probably found in the 1920s. The lack of signs of wear and the intricate ornament indicate that it did not serve as a tool. It could have been used as an occasional weapon, a cult object, or a symbol of social status. The object, being a very rare find, was discovered ...
