St Ceinwen Holy Well
St Ceinwen Holy Well submitted by hoya105 : the church of St Ceinwen (Vote or comment on this photo)
An evocative holy well close to St Ceinwen church, Anglesey. Enter the church gate and the path curves down - the well is on the left, the church on the right. Both are looking a bit worse for wear.

We cleared the debris from the well and pulled a lot of ivy off the church. Such a beautiful peaceful spot.

This well has a history as a healing well and the Saint's Day connected to it is October 7th. The saint Ceinwen is also known in the southwest and was said to have died in Cornwall. She was connected to dragon slaying and turning lizards to stone!
