Glacial Erratic located on a branch of the High Street near St John The Baptist Church in Corby Village. This stone is said to have originally been located in the Churchyard but was moved at an unknown date, although it's understood that the land it now sits on at the front of a row of two story flats was originally part of the churchyard domain, so it's possible it wasn't so much moved as had it's surroundings altered.
The Parliament Stone was a meeting point for villagers, and may have been regarded as a Moot Stone in the days when Corby Village was an important settlement in the Rockingham Forest. Its name is thought to derive from being a meeting place for Parliamentarians during the English Civil War.
This recumbent boulder was by oral tradition the site of the reading of the Royal Charter in 1585 and 1670, and was until quite recently used as one of the points for the proclamation at the start of Corby's historic Pole Fair.
