The NGR was straight from Burl. I am working through this material at the moment and have found a large number of errors of this magnitude and more where the error is less marked. I did not want to deluge the portal with suggested alterations. There are also issues with the search facility but I guess you are aware of this.

Interesting stuff Sandy no, please do update us - delighted to improve the data - what difficulties are you having with the search as I may be able to help there?

Thanks Andy. Will do what I can. The problem with the search is if you put in stone alignment many of them do not appear in the results. I could try and quantify and come up with examples if that would be helpful.

If you do a search for stone alignments in Scotland you will find that only one in Caithness is identified. Perhaps that will help you sort out the problem.

The correct NGR based on the original Royal Commission Report is SN 56372 28779. The stones were removed sometime before 21st April 1914. It is not clear whether this was a stone row or perhaps the remnants of a chambered tomb. Indeed the same old problem with the short rows comprising three closely spaced stones.

Thanks - that's updated - I'm not sure where Vicky's NGR came from - our original stone circle and row data was referenced from the Burl books (with permission) however that would have been 6 digits.
