The roughly oval earthwork measures at its central points 460 m and 290 m. The interior space was ca. 9.5 ha. The still well detectable trench is 1200 m long. A second ditch and bank can be seen at the Eastern part. However, it is not unequivocally clear if this part was reused and altered in Medieval times.
First investigations in 1935 and 1938 lead to the discovery of finds from the Neolithic, Roman times and the Middle Ages. Parts of the earthwork were excavated and analyzed in 2013 and 2015.
