Round Barrow in Kent

From Exploring Kent's Past:

"A large round barrow, part of which was destroyed when a barn was built. The primary burial is probably intact and it may also have had a berm about four yards wide. Scheduled.

Remains of a round barrow lie 90m north or Stowting Court on the opposite side of the road leading to Stowting parish church where a considerable rise in ground level occurs. It terminates at an old hedgerow on the south-east. The original diameter of the barrow must have been over 30m, the portion remaining being slightly over half, with a possibility of the primary burial being undisturbed. Present height from original ground level is 2.5m.Sections were cut in two places and finds included worked flints of Neolithic and Beaker periods, with sherds of domestic beakers."
