Ancient Village or Settlement in Ukraine
Stilsko was, since its establishment in 7th century, a White Croat settlement and possibly their capital. It was located on a plateau by a forest. Stilsko eventally came under the control of Kyivan Rus' and was abandoned in 14th century. Currently the site is protected as a Historic and Cultural Reserve. It is divided into two main areas: a part of the hillfort to the north near Stilsko village (street view), and a cult centre including a complex of caves to the south near Dubrova village (street view).
