Ancient Village or Settlement in Ukraine
Torchesk was a town established by the Turkic tribe of Torks under the Kyivan Rus'. It was ruined by the Cumans in 1093 and rebuilt in the 12th century, to be ruined again in the 13th century by the Mongols. The hillfort survived from the Rus' period.
