Ancient Village or Settlement in Ukraine

Princely Halych was the centre of Galicia (Halychyna) during the Kievan Rus' period until most of the city was destroyed during the Mongol Invasion in 13th century. The former city centre (now located in Krylos) was abandoned, and the city moved north, from which modern Halych emerged.
The complex includes the hillfort, foundation of Assumption Cathedral (the main church of Princely Halych), foundation of St. Elijah's Church, an old well, and a burial mound.
