Ancient Village or Settlement in Japan

The residential ruin of the Okhotsk people near the Abashiri port. Several pentagonal or hexagonal dwelling pits, an reconstructed earthen roofed house, small burial mounds, some of them accompany stone settings on their surface, and also round dwelling pits of preceding Post Jōmon people all lie in this site.

A museum attached. Open 9:00-17:00 daily July-Sept., closed on Monday, national holidays and the days around the new years day Oct.-June. Admission 300 Japanese Yen.
