Burial Chamber or Dolmen in Albania

An ancient megalithic structure located in Vranisht, Albania, the Vranisht Dolmen is a large edifice standing approximately 4 meters high and includes several massive stone slabs weighing several tons each, with the lintel atone weighing an estimated 10 tons. Located on the Mesimer mountain, the dolmen is almost 700 meters high above sea level. Dated to the early 3rd millennium BCE (Bronze Age), it is believed the dolmen served as a burial chamber and religious site for early local inhabitants. Local theories suggest that it may have also served as a site for astronomical observations, as the stones are supposedly aligned with the movements of the sun and stars. Further investigation and citations are needed for this enigmatic, ancient structure.
