Ausevik Rock Art  Rock Art  Norway  Sogn og Fjordane  Visited  4th Oct 2024  4  4  5  We habe visited this large site with rockpaintings. The bay area was very appealing, we could imagine this was a safe harbour to gather and live for our ancestors. The rock art was pretty hard to see, due to mosses and water, the colours have disappeared. But it was so great to be here.
Søfstadklubben  Rock Art  Norway  Møre og Romsdal  Visited  26th Sep 2024  4  4  4  An impressive area with those smooth rocks and astonishing paintings. Loved the valley.

Look for the house with red rooftiles. The right coordinates of Alnestrøya are 62.29096N and 5.58206E. It was a pity we could not come closer, not from the hill and not via the backyard. Menhir...

Skjonghelleren  Cave or Rock Shelter  Norway  Møre og Romsdal  Visited  24th Sep 2024  2  3  3  As it has rained the path was pretty wet. The stones were slippery. Unfortunately trees are growing before the entrance of the cave so the entrance is hard to see from half way up. But it was a challinging site, the rocks in front and the view on the bay/fjord.
Blimshaugen mound  Round Barrow(s)  Norway  Møre og Romsdal  Visited  24th Sep 2024  4  4  4  The burial mounds are fenced, but you can enter. There is an information board that tells a dramatic story of a family burial 3/400AD. The view of the mounds over the sea / fjord is stunning. The entrance of some graves are still visible.
Sjøskardet standing stone  Standing Stone (Menhir)  Norway  Møre og Romsdal  Visited    4  4  4  There is a parking lot for both the menhir as the 300AD burial mounds and information. As the gate was closed we went over the fence. The rope of this megalithic area is too close to the menhir to make a nice picture. The menhir has a prominent overview over the bay (beach).
