Cup Marked Stone, Gwerncaernyddion

Site Type: Rock Art
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes on 8th Jun 2019

Cup Marked Stone, Gwerncaernyddion submitted by w650marion on 8th Jun 2019. We walked past this massive squarish flat-topped boulder at the side of the road, only to find later that it was in the Archwilio archaeological record as a cup marked stone! We dashed back with high hopes and gently brushed away the sheep droppings, but the cup marks were not easy to see. A few drops of drinking water filled the ones we found, and made them more easy to photograph.
Clockwise from top left -
1. Massive stone at the side of a road which meanders through a sheepfield

Keryvon allée couverte submitted by thecaptain on 27th Feb 2007. Right beside the D.788 road from Trébeurden to Trégastel, and only feet from the cliff edge, is the remains of this allée couverte.
It has a single capstone on side supports only, but there are at least three of them on the south side, and possibly more. At the back, near the hedge, I think that there are a few peristalith stones also.
