Glastonbury Tor submitted by PhilipT on 1st Nov 2010. A few days after Lammas, with the sun rising along the (alleged) Michael Line. Surely not a coincidence that the sun is framed by the St Michael chapel doorway at Lammas and Beltane. Canon 5D, 7 frame stitched panorama.

Date Added: 1st Mar 2011
Site Type: Long Barrow
Country: England (Oxfordshire)
Visited: Would like to visit

Wayland's Smithy submitted by Sunny100 on 6th Aug 2010. The entrance to the chambered long barrow of Wayland's Smithy, near Wantage in Oxfordshire, dating from the Neoloithic Age. Some of the menhirs standing around the barrow are 10 foot tall. The name Wayland the Smith is the legendary person associated with this site and who lived in the 10th century. It says that 'if a horse and a coin were left here overnight, Wayland would shoe the horse and keep the coin'.

St Fergus's Well submitted by hamish on 29th Nov 2005. It was a dull day when I was here so I used flash. What a place though, vegetation going mad all round. The water is sweet to taste, don't forget a silver coin for the well spirit.

Cyfannedd Fawr erratic
Date Added: 17th Apr 2011
Site Type: Natural Stone / Erratic / Other Natural Feature
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Would like to visit

Cyfannedd Fawr erratic submitted by pab on 23rd Jan 2011. Close to the large Cyfannedd Fawr erratic, this stone had a completely different surface, but it still had multi-coloured markings - I remembered having taken a photo of it when frogcottage referred to 'marbling' of a surface in material found in glacial morraines.
All in all, I think I will have to make another visit and take some more detailed photos - unless any portal members manage to check them out first please?
