Some of the menhirs standing around the barrow are 10 foot tall. The name Wayland the Smith is the legendary person associated with this site and who lived in the 10th century. Cyfannedd Fawr erratic

Cyfannedd Fawr erratic submitted by pab on 23rd Jan 2011. Close to the large Cyfannedd Fawr erratic, this stone had a completely different surface, but it still had multi-coloured markings - I remembered having taken a photo of it when frogcottage referred to 'marbling' of a surface in material found in glacial morraines. All in all, I think I will have to make another visit and take some more detailed photos - unless any portal members manage to check them out first please?
