Loupin means Leaping in Borders dialect and Loup means wolf in French.

Haylie submitted by mickm on 22nd Jan 2005. Haylie burial chamber, also known as Haco’s Tomb is situated on a shelf on the hillside overlooking Largs. This Clyde type chamber is all that remains of what was an enormous cairn that was known as Margaret’s Law. It was completely destroyed in 1772 when over 15,000 cartloads of stone were removed, revealing the chamber. Kemp Howe submitted by nicoladidsbury on 29th Mar 2004. This is the remains of what must have been a beautiful stone circle. The stones are pink granite and have a lovely glow. Unfortunately the ambience has been shattered by the "wonderful" victorians, who built the railway on top of it.

Park at the Mull Pottery and take the track just north of the buildings which leads west up-hill. The stones are around 400m in, on a raised platform. There are 3 stones here, the centre one being recumbent. The northern stone is the larger, being just over 2.5m in height. The row runs roughly N-S, and the southern stone is well under 2m. The central recumbent stone looks as if it would have been the largest, it's around 3m long in its current position.

The May 1983 entry in the "Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland" reports that only the middle stone had fallen by then.
