Log Text: This location (where did that name Weston Camp come from?), is I think a settlement, not a hillfort. My 1:25000 map showed it as a Settlement. Both of these (hill)forts were perhaps "defended enclosures", but this is significantly smaller than the adjacent Llanfilo Camp.

Superb location for views of the Brecon Beacons which surely were of significance to the builders, and of other hillforts in the area.

Kinnerton

Kinnerton submitted by TheWhiteRider on 4th Jul 2005. We could only find one of the Kinerton Standing Stones. This one, just visible in the long grass is right next to a footpath. The other, according to the map, is just a little way down the road, but appears to be on private land and is hidden by a high hedge and other foliage. A visit during the Winter months may offer a glimpse of it.

Penywyrlod

Penywyrlod submitted by dodomad on 21st Apr 2016. In 2005 Caroline Wilkinson from Dundee University was commissioned to produce a forensic reconstruction of the skull discovered in 1972. Caroline's work involves taking a plaster cast of the skull and positioning pins on it to indicate the likely depth of flesh at a number of key locations. These depths are based on measurements from the faces of modern people of similar racial type. Clay is then used to build up the layers of muscle, before skin and hair are added. The style of hair cut and...

Maen Serth submitted by TimPrevett on 10th Aug 2005. The stone, with the location of Esgair Perfedd to the rear - a Roman Marching Camp said to take up to 4,000 soldiers, and believed to be constructed during the last Campaign against the (for us) Welsh. Did the Romans use these ridge top markers to help follow the route into the mountains? I reckon they did.
