Lady Well (Aboyne) submitted by KiwiBetsy on 26th Sep 2006. It may have been named Lady’s Well because the lady of a nearby castle found it’s water to be beneficial for her health but it is also recorded that the well is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Besides it’s health giving properties it also seems to have the ability to attract golf balls as I came across 3 while photographing it.
It’s a good idea to ask permission to visit the well but there was certainly no problem in doing so and the golfers were very helpful in pointing it out.
