Kilmichael Glassary 1 submitted by hamish on 31st Jul 2005. What a great sight this is on the edge of a housing estate. For all the modernity around it is still enthralling to be here so much to see. Try counting them.

King's Quoit, Manorbier

King's Quoit, Manorbier submitted by sem on 25th Aug 2004. Looking SW,the view here is outstanding. This must have been a very sought after plot of Neolithic real-estate.It is set in a hollow on the cliffside lined with stones bigger than any but the capstone.Children & Nash suggest "no covering mound would have existed because the ledge.....is far too narrow." Knocknakilla

Knocknakilla submitted by Johnny on 21st Jun 2002. Knocknakilla Megalithic Complex, Co. Cork (W297 841): On the NW slopes of Musherabeg Mountain, Knocknakilla, the "stone of the church", is almost a twin to the megalithic complex at Kealkil (cf): both sites consist of a five-stone ring, a pair of standing stones and a radial cairn. Of the two pillar stones, one is now prostrate the other being the dominant feature in the complex standing 3.7m in height. The stones would originally have been just over 3.5m apart and aligned NNE-SSW....

La Pierre Martine

La Pierre Martine submitted by greywether on 4th Jul 2005. In an area where all the dolmens tend to look the same, this one does have a USP in that it is the largest dolmen in Lot. 7.1x2.3m capstone weighing 20 tons. Shame about the concrete supports at each end of it.
