Ormaig submitted by rockartuk on 18th Aug 2001. On the West slope of Creag Mhor (NM 8222 0267) you may find a magnificent series of over 200 carvings, many in 'mint' condition. They were recently (1973) uncovered. This is a detail of two of the three rosettes of different sizes. This realy cheers you up!

Old Stone Fort submitted by bat400 on 30th Jul 2006. Entrance to "Old Stone Fort."
Twin earthen mounds flanked a rectangular earth and stone work enclosure. This enclosure opened into the interior of the "Fort" to the left at the far end. You can see the back wall of the entry "room." These enclosure walls were much higher when first built. Portions of the ground were paved as for a walkway.

Log Text: no. 2 has two superb huge chambers just below the first major parking lot for the zoo. I visited alone. The site on the top of the hill labeled as no.1 in the description is also a fine chamber with reconstructed access passage. The site no. 3 was locked to entry. Despite being on the grounds of a very busy park and zoo these sites were peaceful and deserted.

Newark Earthworks submitted by aluta on 29th Apr 2005. A view from the center of the Great Circle Earthwork at Newark, Ohio, looking through the only entrance toward the museum on the grounds. The photo is taken from the low, broken-cross-shaped mound in the center. It is very difficult to get photos that give any sense of the whole at an earthwork this large.
