Din Sylwy submitted by pab on 13th May 2007. The North face... The Hillfort is on a limestone hill surrounded by a wall of limestone blocks, and it was very difficult at times to work out which 'Master Craftsman' had constructed which! This stretch of wall (SH5868181666) faces out to sea above Tan Dinas farm.

Devils Quoits

Devils Quoits submitted by pab on 12th Mar 2014. Part of the ramparts in the south-eastern segment, showing the extent of the rabbit impact - but also showing just how impressive the stones themselves are! In any other setting, and without the noise and smells, this would be a delight. Hopefully we just visited at a bad time, and in a few years things will be far better - so please don't give up on this place!

Log Text: Visited on 23rd July while on a 'field visit' walk organised by the South Wales Geologists' Association, led by Alan Bowring.

We got to this towards the end of a 9 mile circular walk, but it could be reached fairly easily without doing all that - we started from car park next to playground in Ystradowen SN752124. The area around the hillock on which the cairn sits was (and probably is normally) very boggy.

Cwmyffynnon alignment

Cwmyffynnon alignment submitted by PAB on 3rd Oct 2010. On the slopes above the road between Lyn Nantlle and Ryd Ddu, there is a clear alignment. This may well be 'natural' but it is and almost certainly was formerly very significant. As for special - no doubt... This photo is taken along a bearing of 042 - towards the many settlements and cairns on the Carneddau.
