Nether Corskie Stone Circle

Date Added: 26th Feb 2012
Site Type: Stone Circle Country: Scotland (Aberdeenshire)
Visited: Yes on 15th Jan 2012. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 5 Access 3

Nether Corskie Stone Circle

Nether Corskie Stone Circle submitted by megalithicmatt on 15th Jan 2012. The stones are far bigger than they appear from the road: the western stone is 2.9m high and its partner is 2.1m. The Great Crowns Of Stone gazetteer notes that the 'recumbent' lying between / behind them (not visible in this picture) was not present in surveys in 1902 and 1904, lending uncertainty to the site's classification and original configuration.

Log Text: Woo! Massive stones! They look deceptively small from the road.
