Log Text: There is some parking provided by the National Trust, but from there the walk is on an unmade path and through a field, so if you can avoid going on a wet day that would be best! Upon reaching the site, the mood is amazing with the wind rustling through the trees and the ribbons and bells tied to one of the trees. The National trust have provided steps and a path around the monument and also signs and information. The first time I walked up the steep stairs and saw the stones it took my breath away! I feel privileged to live so close to this site, and amazed that I did not know about the site until I was 32 years of age!

Log Text: Parking is a problem, but there is a Lay by about 300yds from the site, however access from there requires walking along the busy Rochester Road to Pilgrims way with no foot path. Once you are at the path (Signposted with Ancient Monument) the walk is up a steep path next to the field with the monument in it. The monument is now kept by English Heritage behind black iron railings, however this dose not take away from how impressive the site is. From this monument you can see where the Coldrum stones are and you can just immagine how it would have looked 3000 years ago when the tombs were complete and in all there former glory!! Th3y would have dominated the landscape!

Log Text: The White Horse Stone is on the Pilgrims way in between Aylesford and Boxley, and is only accessable on foot. I found access by parking near the Shell Service station (Cossington), on the south bound A229 (Blue Bell Hill) From the service station follow the north downs way over the new High Speed railway onto pilgrims way and the stone will be about 100yds on your left hand side. Impressive that the stone undoubtedly is, I suspect it is not in situe and is possibly part of the long destroyed Smythe Monuments, moved out of the field system.

The well has recently been restored as part of the renovation of the whole site, which is well worth a visit and very atmospheric. Not much was known about the well at the time of my visit, but the intention was to continue exploration if possible.

Log Text: The Well has long since been covered to provide more parking for the church, but the owner, Mr Doug Chapman is always happy to talk about it. The site is only open on Sundays and must be prearranged with the owner.

Log Text: There is a car park opposite the bridal-way that splits 2 of the barrows. They are recognized as sites of ancient monuments. The woods are protected by the woodland trust and are well worth a visit.

Log Text: Walked up and down Pizien Well Road. Apart form the Mearworth Stream there is another small stream that appears to spring from a nearby Corn Field. I couldn't find any evidence of a well except that it looks like the stream running parallel with the road runs quite a bit underground and even more may have been covered up.

Log Text: Could not find any sign of the site. I suspect the Church of St Mary the Virgin has been built on the site. There are a few large stones around the Village which may have once been part of the circle. One on School Lane, and most notably the boundary stone just over the bridge on the Williamscott Road.

This worked stone, thought to be either a font or the base of a cross, now sits on a mown road edge near a new estate. The road is called Cup and Saucer - so the stone has been acknowledged and claimed.

Log Text: I walked up alongside the Gypsey Race stream which was dry this far up stream, until came to the field where the Henge is located. There is nothing visible to the untrained eye, however, the scenery around the area is beautiful, if not a bit barren but you can see for miles around. If you could just imagine the many rectangular barrows around, this would have been an amazing place to be in the bronze age to probably the middle ages.
